The three-day Talo Tshechu is well known for its mask dances and the atsara dances. An aqually popular attraction, which has a deep religious and historical significance, is the Zhungdra (classical dance) by the Talo dance troupe. The three songs of Muni Sum, which comprise the Zhungdra set, are performed as the closing item on each day of the three days of the Tshechu. The three Songs, Samyi Sala (performed on the first day), Drukpa Dungey (second day) and Thowachi Gangi Tselay on the final day, are the pride of the Talo community.

This annual festival held in Ura in Bumthang is known for its famous dance called the “Ura Yakchoe”. A sacred relic is displayed for people to receive blessing from. According to legend, an old woman sitting outside her house was visited by a lama asking for a glass of water. When she came out with the water, the lama had vanished leaving behind only a sack. Out of curiosity, she checked the bag and found the statue that is now displayed annually. This relic has been passed on from generation to generation and still owned by the descendants of the woman.

The 9 Days Ura Yakchoe Festival is an annual festival held in the Ura valley in Bumthang which is known for its famous dance called the “Ura Yakchoe”.
